Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue or better yet just has a quick answer for me.

Bought my car used with 34,000 miles on it. The one owner before me barely ever drove it and along those lines it's my secondary car so I hardly ever drive it either (parking lot at work is a war zone being the main reason).

Anyways....I have 2 intelikeys or keyfobs...whatever they are labeled. No matter which one I use, the display always alerts me that my battery is low on them and I need to slip them in the in-dash charger. I normally do so but the next time I get in the car I get the same alert once again. Now, I don't really drive the car for prolonged periods of time. To and from the golf course or out to dinner. So maybe they just don't have a chance to charge long enough? Would putting new batteries in each fob eliminate this warning/issue?

Thanks

The slot for the key actually holds no purpose. Doesn't charge the key or anything. You're going to have to change the battery.

like youngcoupe said the slot is nothing other than a system bypass to start up your car if the batteries were low or dead in the keyfobs.

like mentioned above, it does not charge the fob. this was a surprise to me because the first time i went to look at the coupes (08 or so), the salesman told me that it DID charge the fob in case it ever died blah blah blah. but yea, bottomline, it does not charge and you'll have to replace the batteries.

I guess I should have done a bit of research myself because the salesmen told me that the slot charged it as well. Thanks for the heads up guys. Will get them changed out this week.

^Great salesmen you have there. "Charge" sounds much better than "saves your a** when your button cell battery dies".
