My key fob is beeping and it doesnt work. probably dead battery. I replaced battery and now it needs to be programed.

What is the procedure to program the fob?

I just replaced my 97 FOB. here are the instructions that came with the remote:

1 - Open the truck.

2 - Enter the car & close & lock all doors.

3 - Insert key into ignition & remove it fully MORE THAN 6 TIMES within 10 SECONDS.

4 - MANUALLY unlock & then lock the drivers door once with the mechanical knob.

5 - Within 5 seconds push the LOCK button on the FOB.

6 - Unlock the drivers door with the mechanical knob, open the drivers door & close it.

7 - Test transmitter for function.

Don't forget to close the trunk when you are done.

Tried both procedures multiple times, with two fobs, both with new batteries. One fob beeps, the other doesnt

Neither work on the car.

When it says close and lock all doors. Do i have to open the close all doors? Manually lock them?

Do you have an original FOB from Infiniti? By the way my J30 is a 1997. My OEM FOB never beeped before even when the battery was low. When it seemed the FOB wasn't working even close to the car I replaced the battery in it & never needed to reprogram it, I did that twice.

I opened the trunk with the lever on the driver's door & lifted it all the way open, then got in the car & used the "lock all doors button" on the driver door panel & then proceeded with the directions.

It took me a couple of times to get it right.

"7 - Test transmitter for function."

I got out of the car & manually closed the trunk before step #7 & the FOB worked fine.

I had to read & try the directions several times to get it right.
