Greetings all,

For starters, I'll remind everyone I've a 06 Nissan Fuga as opposed to a M35.

I recently took my car out for a lengthy drive away from home and without thinking about it, had my key fob right next to one of those Apple magnetic phone battery packs while I was walking around, that I think has damaged the fob. When I returned to the car, it locks and unlocks normally, however will not start. The pushbutton start will go to ACC and even ON, but the motor does not crank or attempt to. The amber "Key" light is on on the dash. While I bought the car in Japan, I have since imported it to the UK and finding someone that works on these is near impossible. Nissan UK have told me there isn't a dealership in the country that can work on it and I'm on my own to find a Japanese mechanic to help.

I've had a mobile diagnostics team come out and the car is free of codes or issues on the scan. They assumed it was the key as well and had a mobile car locksmith come out. They concluded the key was fine as it locks/unlocks and allows for the ACC/ON options to come up. They assumed it was the starter that went since it wont even turn over. I got a second hand starter and installed it myself yesterday and had zero change in any condition.

My options for assistance are extremely limited and I've only got one mobile locksmith entertaining the idea of even coming out. Does anyone have any assistance they can offer, know someone in the London area thats worth trying, or know of some relatively inexpensive equipment I can get my hands on to do this myself? Thank you in advance!

If it's like USDM cars, only a Red sec lamp will prevent cranking. Yellow can mean a lot of things, but only Red is a NATS no-start warning. Since your ignition will cycle to "On", assuming your battery and connections are healthy, it's more likely you have a problem with one of the two starter relays in the IPDM, or a wiring issue. Begin with some basic starter checks to determine whether the problem is upstream or downstream:

You said they "had a mobile car locksmith come out." Did the locksmith attempt to programme the key back into the car, specifically, the Intelligent Key unit?
Did you try with the spare key, if there was one?
