Has anyone experienced the Key Fob Draining the Battery ?
I got in the habit of leaving the Key Fob on the front seat when I park my car in the garage. After 2-3 days of not driving, the car barely starts. The battery is very weak.
The battery is less than a year old, I and I have been able to charge it back up, no problem.
In the past week, I have put the Key Fob in the house when I am parked at home, and the battery seems very strong when I start it.
I think leaving the Key Fob in the car makes something run, and slowly drains the battery. Has anyone else experienced this ?

No, it doesn't make anything run. You may have a parasitic drain, but it's not the key fob. That's an 8 year old car. Have you had the electrical system checked?

The key fob does not drain a battery

It doesn't matter if your battery is less than a year old

Pick up a battery hydrometer and check the specific gravity of each of the battery cells

If you have a weak cell or cells not accepting a full charge either you are not driving the car enough to fully charge up your battery or your less than a year old battery is defective.

I disagree with the other posts. Yes, I have killed the battery doing the same thing a few times. Leaving the key in keeps the car powered to some level. Even keeping the key near the car will keep the computer on. I found that out while camping in a tent next to my car. Keep the key out of the car over night.

My battery was, indeed, bad.
It would charge, but not fully.
I replaced it.
