Hey everyone, what do you think of this item? I'm thinking of buying one to help prevent me from bumping the buttons in my pocket accidently. I am constantly bumping the alarm button, and had the problem with the windows opening a few weeks ago, but that hasn't happened lately.

Has anyone tried this item? Do you think the thickness will be enough to prevent accidental button bumping?

Thanks.

Might I ask, what's the point? Are you having serious button bumping? Perhaps it would be best to just put the fob into a separate pocket. I guess the buttons can be pressed regardless of what cover is placed on it.

Yes, I bump the alarm button at least once or twice a week.

The problem with the keyfob is that the buttons are not recessed at all, making them really easy to bump.

I don't have any empty pockets to put it in. I keep my wallet and keys in one pocket, and my cell phone in the other pocket. The buttons get bumped either from the other keys or from my wallet.

I think that this cover would help to reduce this problem, because it would recess the buttons. And it is only $7 with free shipping, so it's worth a shot.

I thought about getting that same thing for the very same reason. Every so often when getting out of the car, I guess my keys push against the FOB and the alarm goes off! It's so irritating, especially late at night. Let me know how it is if you buy it.

ugh..... i've been wanting to go back to the nissan dealer to ask them to disable my remote windows roll down feature. I'm dreading the day that they open themselves while its raining out. The days that i go to work and its raining, i try to make it a habbit of throwing the keyfob on my computer so it doesn't get bumped.

This little cover has my interest. I think it might be good for leaning protection, but maybe not against keys, as keys obviously have many edges and directions to rotate. If i buy that cover, i might actually put the cover on BACKWARDS so it completely covers the buttons. I hardly use the buttons on the key fob. only time i do is to double check that its locked.

Good idea Mike, but even if you put it on backwards, the buttons can still be pressed (only now through the rubber). I don't know how practical this cover is.

They have these plastic ones for the other Nissan key fobs. Maybe they have a similar plastic one for the Infiniti-style key fob. I think plastic would be superior to rubber.

Uhh...I hope you weren't planning on the leopard skin color? If so, you deserve a permanent ban from this site!

I wasn't planning on anything. I never have a problem of accidentally pressing any buttons on the key fob when it's in my pocket. I place it into the same pocket as my wallet and position it so that nothing is pushing against it. Sometimes, I just stick it into the back pocket all by itself, although this makes it uncomfortable to sit down. I was just saying that plastic would prevent this problem better than rubber.

If Mike wants to put his key in backwards, he can slide it into the plastic one and then he won't be able to press the buttons at all!

It's all good, Tyler. Don't issue a self-ban just because you wear leopard skin underwear. It's not like you're wearing a g-string.

I like it...as much as I drop my keys on the ground...

Will it prevent button pressing? Hmmm, it may be worth 7 dollars to find out.

I have a protective cover on my phone, I don't see what would be wrong with a cover on the FOB.

I don't have a problem with pressing buttons by mistake. You guys need to consider buying looser pants...haha. Okay, sorry.

I'm going to get one. Go on, do it mannnnn!

I never knew Premature Fobulation was such a major issue!

-Mad

PS: You may want to consider getting a belt clip for your phone. That would free up a pocket. I didn't think I'd like using one, but I love it.

Just to let you guys know, I ordered one. Not a leopard skin g-string, but one of these FOB covers. With all that's been happening with windows opening and interiors getting wet, I feel a bit paranoid so I ordered myself one. I'll let you guys know how it fits. Again, not the underwear, but the cover on the FOB

I'm going to ask them today when I get my first (of 4) free oil changes. Being winter I leave the FOB in my jacket/inner side poket and I still set the alarm off?!?! I think it's TOO SENSITIVE.

As for the Cover? I like it, I might order the Orange.

I ordered mine & got it Friday. I has a good fit & look. I mainly got it to protect against dropping & it quietens the other keys in my pocket.

Just ordered two, I 'll see how they turn out...not a lot of money for something that may come in handy... I need one for the coupe and the sedan...now I can tell them apart without having to put tacky colored tape or something like that on them!

I only accidentally set off the Alarm twice since picking her up, so it's not really an issue for me.

I got it today and it looks dope! LOL

Beautiful Hawaiian weather + Farther distance from mainland US = Longer shipping/transit times.

Looks nice in Orange.

I just got my blue one last week. They had to ship it a second time because the first one got lost in the mail.

It fits well...

But I just noticed that my windows opened accidentally last night. I'll have to get the key reprogrammed.

Keep me posted on how you guys like this key cover.

I had my first case of

I'm still hitting buttons accidentally even with the the cover on.

Twice in a row, I ended up popping the trunk accidentally as I was sitting down in the driver's seat, and I was like WTF!

And about 2 days ago, I hit the alarm accidentally.

I think it needs a cover the flips open to reveal the buttons. Any fabricators out there?

Yeah, I still set off my alarm when shifting in and out of my seat. I guess the one of my keys pushes against the button. It happened twice in the past month, much less than it used to.
