hello guys! any suggestion prior to trying to change the key fob battery? i'm getting a " low battery" msgs my dash on my 2006 infiniti m35x and i'm thinking to change the battery myself but idk if that would get the system out of programming. has anybody done it? i tried to search about it on the forum w no success. i.m not able to open the doors w the control sometimes or open the door and to turn it on, sometimes the car doesn't recognize the key and i have to insert it to the housing.

I bought my m35 about 2 months ago. For the first month and a half - 60% of the time the proximity lock/unlock button on the door, the lock/unlock buttons on the fob, and push button start did not recognize the fob at all - I had to use the actual key to get in and push the fob it into the slot to start the car. No Low battery warning, and It would randomly work fine one time then stopped working the next.

Ordered a pack of C2025 batteries, opened up the fob, removed the C2032 that was in there (not sure if that was the issue) and it has worked perfectly for the last 2 weeks so you should be fine

I read some time ago that the CR batteries are all 3V batteries but the size was slightly different between them. That could be the reason you would have issues with it working intermittently. I found this post about the difference in thickness between the 2025 & 2032.

Yeah, these two batteries are identical in diameter and only differ in thickness (the 2032 is thicker).

In many cases, particularly with a spring-loaded "back" contact pin, a 2025 can be substituted for a 2032. But not the other way, since the thickness could be just a tad too much for some battery holders. A 2016 would be too thin for good connections if the need was for a 2032.

These are inexpensive and can be found at almost any store ... including places like CVS and Walgreens and also most supermarkets.

The marking inside the key clearly states CR2032. I would recommend sticking with what the OEM has spec it to.

No, the only difference between the three types (aside from mechanical thickness) is amp-hours of capacity. 2016's have roughly half the capacity of 2032's, so you'll change batteries roughly twice as often. Other than that, @szh is exactly right, anything that "fits in the hole" won't cause problems. You'll just be referencing the video more regularly.
:naughty:

FYI, the numbers are standardized and correspond to the cell dimensions in millimeters. The 20 indicates 20mm diameter for all three types, the 16 is 1.6mm thick, the 20 is 2.0mm thick, the 32 is 3.2mm thick. Capacity happens to correspond pretty well with the thickness.

Exactly right! :dblthumb:
