I just picked up a manual shift Q60S and noticed today that the amber
"Key" dash light is lit when I drive the car. I replaced the battery in the key FOB and it
still does this. I believe the manual calls this the "Key Error Light"
I can unlock the car with the FOB and it starts fine. According to the manual,
this is some sort of hard error in the starting system? What I would like to know
is if I do have the FOB and the physical key that slides out, is this
going to cause an issue like the car just shutting off while driving it or
a thing of it not starting? Has anyone else experienced this? At present,
I have had no issues opening the trunk and doors as well as locking everything. Also
as soon as I get into the car, I just press the clutch and brake and the
thing starts fine with that start button. The other strange thing with this car is that the
two interior dome lights do not work. And yes, I know about the Door, On and Off
switch on the above console. Other then that, everything works great in this car.
This car only has 9,000 miles on it and is in like new condition. I am something like
90 miles from the nearest Infiniti dealer. Oh, could a regular Nissan
dealer work on this issue if it is something that really needs to be fixed right away?
