So I've been given a JDM spec Q45 to fix up for a friend, but the PO didn't give us a key (wasn't running at the time) and now he's been a pain to get ahold of, and I'm done waiting.

Since this is an import, I doubt the VIN would help me get a key cut. So where can I find a key code for the car? I have all the plastic taken from the ignition and the doorcard off, but I'm not certain if any of the numbers I'm seeing would be the code. Does anyone know? Any help would be appreciated

There are companies online that will do it based on the VIN, however as far as I can tell they don't offer the service for cars made before 1998.

Check the glovebox as there may be a sticker with the info in there. You could also try contacting Infiniti corporate to see if they can assist you. Supposedly some of the better locksmiths have more extensive databases on hand than the dealership, so you could try calling a few.

Unfortunately there's no sticker. I'll call up the closest Infiniti dealership I can, I'll try to pull the tumbler for now

Pulling the tumbler is kind of a fight in and of itself
