Hi all, this I think is my first post but there are more to come I promise! I recently bought from a Japanese engine importer, a vk45dd with loom and ecu. These are obviously fine to replace a tired engine in a same model car but my problem is mine is going into a hot-rod project. I can possibly buy an ignition barrel from dismantler but on top of that cost I have been quoted $400NZ to supply and code a key. All I really want is a $5 switch but is it possible? BTW. my project car it's destined for is a Morris Minor from the early 50's.

Can't you reflash the ecu to get rid of that? I know they reflash the 06 usdm ecu's.
