I removed the A/C Lines, A/C Condenser, A/C Pump, A/C Bracket and A/C Evaporator. I may have removed upwards of 50 pounds but my god, I live in Oklahoma and i do wish i had it. but i guess its bareable. Im moving to michigan soon....sooo....doesnt matter too much.

keep it. but replace the seals and upgrade to R134a if you haven't already while the engine is out.

working on A/C with the SR installed FTL.

I don't have it, but I did want it. The shop was supposed to fab a bracket to use my SOHC compressor with the SR, but instead they tried to find one instead of making one and waited till the day I went to pick it up to tell me that they couldn't get done. So now, I have to wait until I feel like bringing it back (~100 miles from my house) to have them run custom lines and use the SR compressor, etc. Probably wait until next year since it's not my DD, or I my just keep it off. I dunno.

If the car is a daily driver and you like little luxuries, keep it. I removed every single part asociated with AC in my swap, and lost a lot of weight and the bay has more space. But I live in CA, and I never use AC on any of my cars, so it was only natural.

Removed a/c. Other than no hassles and lost extra weight the compressor engagement is hard on bearings unless you have an ATI SD. Take apart any a/c'd SR and you'll see a drastic diff between front, mid, and rear main bearings. A lot of this is due to the clutch engagement of the compressor.

If your hot just drive faster!

I wired up my A/C but like Homegirl () I need custom lines and I'm too lazy to have an AC shop do it.

Ryon, you had a DOHC so why didn't you just hookup your compressor to the SR's bracket? Not the homegirl stuff again

My 240 is no longer my DD. I got tired of the little problems that kept cropping up after my sh1t was "professionally" installed and bought a stratus for my daily. I just tinker on the 240 and drive it 1-2 a week, so if it's hot as ballz i drive the stratus. I'll get a/c back in it one day, but probably not until next spring.

I took mine off mostly for 3 reasons. 1: my daily driver has no A/C. 2: I'M IN CALI! 3: Didn't want to deal with the lines for the A/C and all that junk. Besides, its a luxory item in my view. Also, if you remove it u'll notice how heavy all the things are together. the compressor and bracket are pretty dam heavy.
