So my build is coming along quite smoothly, not too bad, the only thing thats being a b*tch is getting the crank pulley back on(shed some light if ya can), but i figured i would make a build thread like i hve for all my other cars. pics will come tomorrow.

My build consists of the following.-Block decked and bored .020 over-wiseco 8.5:1 pistons, with a head and block deck to equal out around 9:1 compression.-cometic head gasket-arp head studs-ACL race bearings-all new seals, gaskets, and nice black block and polished pumps(water/oil)-oil filter relocation with hard rubber lines and black AN push lock fittings.-Battery relocation.-Butterfly delete, with gasket matched ports.-window welded trans mount until i get my nismo.-sand blasted and wrinkle coated valve covers.-E-mance ECU-Spec stage 3 6puck-resurfaced flywheel(looks great)-new throwout and pilot bearing.-blood, sweat, tears, gasket remover, and money(lots of it)

As of now the motor is on the stand with the head all torqued down and pulley half on, the intake mani. will be on tomorrow with all new gaskets and put into time. then hopefully the motor will get the flywheel/clutch/trans tomorrow, and the have the motor dropped in and start routing the oil lines.

updates to come, someone try and give me some help on getting this crank pulley on please, thanks.

my crank pulley just pushed right back on when I used the impact gun. assuming you line it up right and have the timing belt guard (I guess u call it a sealer maybe?) on the right way.

sounds like it is going go..........

you know what everyone is going to want

Nice one, good work...

Although blurry I assume the pic is of the old ringland area, it looks quite cactus..

Shouldnt have too much drama putting the crank pulley back on, check to see if you have mounted your woodruff key correctly (the half moon shaped metal thing on the crank)..

Good luck with it!

it in my thread the whole story basically motor sat with head gasket blown either in japan or states i dont know.. cyl 4 was rusted and pitted .. .040 overbore didnt fix it so he has to sleave it and redo the cylinder .. i wasnt taking a risk not getting good ring seal so yea waiting on that.

You should've gotten a rebuildable block. But I hope everything works out for the better. "Kemp" congrats on getting your lump up and running. Now seconding the question from the parts hoarder, did you drive it yet?

yes i have, it offically has 287miles on the new motor.

it runs amazing, the clutch is sick, and chatters like a b*tch cuz of the 6puck stage 3 spec, it chirps tires leaving a stop sign, haha

i love it, it should see around 20psi once it gets broke in and gets the volvo fmic.

whats the difference between a different block and a sleave?i could of sent in my other block but he said hed sleave it and cut me a deal so i figured why not save my other block for another build.

yea do some decent throttle accellerations in 2nd or 3rd for a few secs then let it decellerate then repeate..

u need to load the motor to get the rings to seal good.. but if u didnt start this process early its a lil too late buy u need to run it harder than u obviously are.

ive been giving it gradual boost, it spiked about 18 tonight and killed tires, felt good, but not safe in my mind without my intercooler.

and the volvo fmic's have been ran at 20 without problems, do you not suggest the volvo fmic for now?

2.5in thick 8inch tall fmic wnet on last night, stacked it right between the radiator and all piping is in the bya, it spools quite fast, and gained power, i went and picked up a brand new HKS SSQV at a local shop and got that all on there, ill have pics up tomorrow.

Careful Jr. . Don't go getting boost crazy and thinking you're protected with those wiseco pistons. My sig is not sarcasm, but the truth. You saw what happened to your stock pistons? It can happen to those wiseco slugs as well. High boost always feels good to the driver, but the engine suffers. Question for you: What makes you feel comfortable at running anything more than 10psi of boost on your brand new engine. Your parts list said you have an E-mance ecu? Or did you mean to say E-manage? What have you done for injectors? And lastly, the car has never seen the dyno yet sooooo, do you have any idea where your timing is at under load (not your base timing)? Or even your injector duty cycle?

Not trying to bust your chops or anything, but I would hate to see you damage your engine and end-up like so many others (sell or rebuild again) because you failed to cover the basics with this motor. The CA is no 4G6X or an SR20 or even remotely like the KA. It doesn't like the things those motors benefit from, but it loves boost and it will take what you give it. And will almost certainly puke oil when you fail to feed the beast correctly .

the emance ecu is the same tune the tuner had on his dynoed setup, which is literally identical to my set up, even down to turbo size and everything. i have recently turned boost to 20pounds, and still pulls great.

the tune is the same tune the guy put down 400whp on, but i do need to get on the dyno i know, and i have 444 injectors, base timing is 15*, and the car runs rich as hell all the way to red line, rich enough for me to see smoke.

only thing about checking timing under load on the dyno, is that it is almost impossible with our ecu's not having consult, or any tuners with any way to tune it real time.

how would you suggest i dyno it? i know a very good tuner, that could probably set up a tune on a chip and burn it so we could swap it in after a few base pulls, i would like to stick to the chip tuning approach for now since money is very tight, i could afford a $300 dyno sesion, but how should i have him do the tuning with the chip? and timing? and duty cycle?

not having consult is a big road block

25psi on some 444s?! Is your fuel pressure at 150psi?
