I want to keep the quarter windows from going down when the top goes down. Does anyone know a way to do that?

I remember reading a post somewhere that allows you to put the top up and down without having to be in park. (something else i need help on)

yeah that'd be awesome if someone knew how, because the motors goin fast, its gonna suck to try and fix it, unless i can just leave them up.

have you tried unplugging the switch in the center??? Not sure if this will work but judging from experience with window switches it should

I read about this when I first got my 240...it is possible, and it's something along the lines of removing a fuse, or something relatively simple. Not exactly good for your top to put it down while in Drive though. Any decent wind can mess up your top when it's half way down

I think what he's meaning about the car not being in park is relative to what eneds to be done electronically to get the top to work after a 5 speed swap.

The inhibitor switch needs to be jumpered to trick the ATCU into thinking it's in park at all times, or else the top doesn't go down. It's a necessity on a 5 speed swap, but I would heavily recommend to leave it alone on an auto equipped car.

And as far as leaving the rear 1/4 windows up, you can probably find the wire that tells the logic unit for the windows to lower when the top down button is pressed and sever it. Of course, that may also just disable them entirely. Nissan has a weird way of making their logic circuits dependent on each other.

I just want to put the top down (or up) at a red light without having to put it in park or worry about the windows.

And that is my problem, my window motors are weak and i dont want to hassle with them right now. When ever I put the top up I hafta wait for the top to go down and then hold it back up so that the quarter windows can go up without getting stuck, and then I can lock everything.

I know that if I can somehow keep the windows separate from the top then I can make this process much easier!

if the quarter windows are up when you put the top up it will damage tracks by pushing the windows forward.
