Does anyone have any suggestions on keeping the engine looking nice and new? My versa is the first new car I have owned, went through plenty of crappy used cars over the years but never bothered with the engines appearance till now.

I just use a wet rag to keep the dirt off, and then use "Son of a Gun" protectant on the plastic and rubber. Only thing is if you put it on the hoses wait 6-8 hours before driving your car, as the heat on the hoses will burn the protectant and smell bad, but I put it on the hoses at night, wake up the next morning, and it is fine to drive. Been doing that with past cars, works fine. Biggest thing to keep clean is your battery and terminals! Try not to get those wet, or any other electronics which the Versa is full of under the hood.

Every car I've owned, I've just sprayed the engine good with my garden hose when I wash the rest of the car. I don't have any oil or fluid leaks so all I have is dust to remove. I occasionally use Simple Green to remove any road film. I've never had any electrical isses using low pressure hose. The engine after all DOES get wet when it rains. It actually gets quite a bit of steam inside the engine compartment.

Yeah ^^^^ my guy who does installs on my RSX and Versa for a couple of years now told me I could most definitely wash my engine bay area with some"everclear" or something that sounds like that on it and just spray everything in there...well mostly everything.

You are in the right spot since i can not buy it here any more,But they have it in the US,You can mix it with water ,Id go 50/50,It is biodegradable,The name is oil eater, and is safe for all items under the hood,All i can say its great stuff for removing any thing grease/dust/dirt.spray it on wait 5-10 minutes ,wash it off with your garden hose.I wish they still sold it at my local walmart because every thing else to remove dirt and oil is just junk.Heres the linkhttp://www.oileater.com/
