This past wednesday while at a parking lot at fathers work, the Rogue was severely hit (while parked). This resulted in $2600 in repairs before a $4k bill for a new engine cradle AND lca. Now with that said, after coming home from a Nissan certified body shop, I did some research on if its time to cut our loss here. This is the 2nd front end accident on this vehicle. I got three great offers near what we originally paid OTD for back in 2019: $23500 from carmax, $23000 from a Nissan dealer, $22800 from an Audi dealer.
We authorized the body shop to start ordering parts and repairing the vehicle for $2600 as we are paying out of pocket (ran into a Geico adjuster, who said its not worth going through Geico to repair this as we are trying to get our premiums lowered).
If we sell the Rogue, me and my dad will share the MDX until August or early 2023 (whenever he decides to get the BMW iX); pops will need the vehicle once a week because he is a gov employee. My mom on the other hand wants to keep the Rogue, as its technically her vehicle since we (pops) bought it for her back when the Kicks was completely wrecked and while we also had the 16 Rogue.
Due to this dilemma, what would you guys suggest? First wreck was back in late Oct 2019 when a lady with a first-gen Rogue (select trim) jumped the curve and side-swipped the vehicle.
