Financially speaking (I do not want to assume that is a critical factor to you, but it is for most), you are almost always better to stick with what you have. Unless you got a real sweetheart of a deal, you likely lost a significant chunk of value when you drove the car off the lot, and would take yet another hit with a trade in value. Same thing happens with the new car, so the longer you drive what you have, the better off you are financially.
I plan to drive my 99Q until it totally craps out on me. It has nearly 180K right now. I suspect it will be the transmission that kills it, and I might even repair that, depending on how everything else is working. When it does finally give up the ghost, I will probably scratch off the VIN and call a cab... Not really, but I will probably donate it, as the tax deduction can often be worth more than you can get for a trade.
Anyway, I say keep it.
