Keep blowing fuses?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Yesterday I found that the interior lights and drivers side power seat (but not lumbar support) stopped working. I found that the 10 A "room light" fuse on the driver's side was blown and replaced it, which fixed the problem for 2 30 min car trips. By the time I got to work today, I found that the fuse has blown again.

The only thing I can think of is that before this happened yesterday, I vacuumed vigorously under the seats at a car wash by sticking a vacuum wand under the seat. Is it possible I damaged some wiring connector or harness that is now shorting under some vibration or position condition? I also recently replaced all int lamps with LEDs, which are on the same circuit, but that was over a month ago with no issues.

Might have an intermittent shorted LED. I'd switch them all back to bulbs and see if the fuse still goes. Got to start with what you did first. :)

What he said... Are all those LED lights working after you change the fuse?

I agree. Those LEDs are often cheaply made and one is probably a bummed one.

I jostled the cables under the seat and disabled the "move driver seat back on exit" option, and the fuse hasn't blown again.... yet.

As a side note, it's really hard to clean under these seats. Like to the point where I am considering unbolting the seat just to vacuum.

Update: I finally figured out what is blowing the fuses. It took me awhile, because it's a bit weird. When I extend the telescoping sun visor to the side, it blows the fuse. The wire connecting the vanity mirror light must be frayed or damaged somehow inside the sun visor arm. So now I can't block side-sun, unless I replace it I suppose. Anyone have any other ideas?

Has to be a plug in order to remove the sun visor, just unplug it.

Disconnected as suggested and no issues!

Got a new visor (with a new mirror cover) on order for just $60!

Thanks!
