I decided I'm gonna document the whole process. I picked up the car probably two years ago and it sat in my driveway collecting dust. It's a 92 240sx, was an auto, but is being converted to a 5 speed. It needs body work, but luckily it isn't rusted anywhere. I'm gonna need to fill in the trunk holes because apparently it used to have a type-x wing on it. However my first priority is getting the car running, then I'll do paint, wheels, and suspension.

The engine is a 1UZFE out of a 95 SC400. Had 85k on it when the guy pulled it. Picked it up for $300 (Engine and Harness).

I'm going to be keeping the KA transmission and making an adapter plate to mount the engine and trans together. At this point in time I'm working on the trans adapter. Once that's finished, we can mount the trans and get measurements for the motor mounts.

I'll be using an MR2 Turbo flywheel since the 1UZ never came manual. I need to have the bolt holes machined out a little, but that's the only thing that needs to be changed. Luckily my brother had one lying around, so all I need to pay for is machine work/resurfacing.

I'll also be using a N/A Z32 300zx clutch disk and a MR2 Turbo Pressure Plate.

For engine management I'm going with Megasquirt as I don't have the CASH to drop on AEM EMS.

I'll also be doing an EGR delete to clean up that rats nest on the rear/side of the engine.

Cheers Gentlemen :

I'll keep the thread as updated as I can. The ball should start rolling this weekend.

I haven't seen anything anyone sells. I'm just going to make custom mounts and do the wiring myself.

Ahh good stuff man. Actually, I'm looking for a passenger side mirror and an aftermarket radiator. Just throwing it out there in case you have one.

Yep the engine bay is going to get paint once the engine is test fitted. I'm also going to take a weekend and deep clean and if I have to, paint the engine. I'm looking at doing the same color as my last S13, minus the kit:

Thanks! I've already talked to Watty via email about his build. He's helped tremendously already.

I'm gonna keep all of the templates we use for the adapter and mounts. I'll do my best to document what we do with the wiring.

Also to everyone else, thanks for the support.
