Anyone with any "knowledge" of the older KZ's?

I'm thinking REAL hard about picking up an older KZ and want to bounce some questions off someone.

Looking for a good early '80's bike to save some $$. I can get a "decent" miles 84 bike for less than $1,000. If I was going to spend real money, the SV 650 or 1000 was on my list.

you can find a 2000+ year model crotch rocket for 2kish if you know who to talk to in your local area... i mean check out the WOW dealership in atlanta website just to get some prices and stuff
