Alright I been thinking about replacing my cloth seats with the katzkin leather. But the thing is that I also wanna install a dvd system with headrest monitors. Ok, so the question is, which would you guys have installed first. The leather seats or the dvd system? and why? Would it be easier to have the leather installed first and then have the audio guy do his stuff or the other way around?

i had the same decision. katzkin or a d3 unit. I went with the katzkin, im happy with my choice and the price of the d3 has came down significantly since I made that decision.

i understand what you are saying, but I don't think that's what he's getting at... his question is in what order should he do them...

and as Brian has answered, definately do the catzkin leather first...Also, I would suggest that you find a junk dealer somewhere in the country that has a pair of 2007 / 2008 NIssan Altima headrests from a totaled car, and get those! Its always good to have a spare set when you are cutting holes for a headrest monitor! You never know when you may want to sell the car, and findin them then on short notice may prove difficult... just a suggestion!

well, heres one problem I found out. When installing headrest monitors, I was told that they install the wires through the foam thats inside of the seats. But the problem is that our 08 altimas seats came with airbags. So if I were to have them install the headrest monitors, wouldnt it interfere with the airbags and mess up my warranty? I wonder if theres another way of installing the wires.

heres a pic of the headrest monitors from an altima.

the airbags areon the sides of the seats. Yes, the wires go down the shaft where the pole inserts... usually, you would attached them to a wire hangern then guide them to the opening at the bottom of the seat! Not a difficult install! The difficult part comes into play when you get headrest monitors that will be fit into the OEM headrest.... that cutting and defoaming doesn't alow much room for error!
