Yo kat people. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go KAT with my s14. I wanna use a t28 bottom mount. Any of you guys have experience with a/c in conjunction with that setup? I've gotta have a/c, p/s, and I don't wanna heat up my brake master cylinder. I'm also looking for the QUIETEST 3" exhaust. Any advice? thanks

When I did the bottom-mount T28 setup on my S13 there were no major problems with the AC; just had to bend a line a bit. The PS system remained untouched.

As for overheating your BMC, exhaust wrap over your turbo header and dump-pipe, a turbo blanket, and a homemade heat shield are good insurance. Decent brake fluid won't hurt either.

I've had no problems with my A/C or powersteering either. As for protecting the brake fluid from boiling, I used heatwrap on my manifold and downpipe. I had to bend the brake lines a bit to keep them from touching the manifold though.Kind of a bad picture but you get the idea.

Also, make sure you pic a nice spot for the oil return line on the oilpan, my return line was a tight fit since my oil return bung was in a bad spot on the oilpan.

It would be a good idea to weld the bung at an angle, not flush to the pan since the engine is tilted. You want the return oil to flow out as smoothly as possible.

How do those t28's work for you guys? Are you happy with the powerband? How's the gas mileage? So many people I talk to are telling me to use a T3. I dunno. I had a T3 on my sr and I hated it. Will the extra .4 liters spool it up that much quicker?

T28 should respond instant depending on which t28 you use, but the T2 flange isnt efficient for the ka since there can be that exhaust gas thats not fully exitin the exhaust side due to the small T2. something like a gt3076r is perfect for the KA and will give really good response, depending on what manifold you go w/, i gaurantee it wont lag like the sr20.

when i had my t25 on i was kicking @ss, made 247whp and 241wtq on about 8lbs, no power on the topend though. gt2871r would be a whole lot better. but i like t3 better.

Gas mileage is perfect, i'm actually n/a fully built w/ 740cc and gas is perfect. i have a peakboost mani on the side might upgrade to something else but i am going for soemthing like the gt3076r and looking to make over 400whp.

I have a/c and p/s on mine and have no issues with it. I put a large heat shield that protects the brake master cylinder and the low pressure a/c line from the heat off of the turbine housing and down pipe and that works really well. I think that's the main issue. As long as you protect that stuff, you shouldn't have any problems.
