Check the spark plugs first. My car had the same symptoms and it was just from a bad spark plug on the #1 cylinder. I put in some cheap a** $2.50 plugs and voila. The weird thing is the plug that was bad was a denso iridium and it didn't look broken or dirtier then the other 3 I took out. I think I'll stick to the stock NGK platinums from now on.

Alright well, you said this started after you heat wrapped the headers.. You wrapped them while the manifold was on the car right? If so, check your CAS/Distributor wiring, all the wiring in that corner. Check your O2 sensor wiring and plug, even though i dont think it would make it run that bad but idk.

clean your maf first, than replace the maf cause it seems like its going bad. This of course your car runs fine without it.

Does your fuel pump turn on when you turn the key to 'ON'? If so, your ECU may be in safe mode...pull the codes off of it and go from there.

Did you disconnect any ground straps when you did the header wrapping?

What is the voltage off the maf when you turn the key to 'ON?' It should be .8-1.2V.

since the car only cuts up when when you're building boost you really need to look for a leak remove your airflow meter and below air into your system like when it's boosting it really sounds like you just have a leak

you just blew your ringlands. time for a rebuild... im assuming you ran no timing retard and with not so great tune. Wha you should have done to ensure proper fueling is get bigger injectors at least 370 and ditch the fmu. Those are known to be the culprit of blown ka's

lol boost leak with a 40 psi compression in the one of the cylinders is definately a blown ringland. lowest is 151 psi and a difference between cylinders of 14psi.
