I have some questions regarding a ka swap I want to do. First, I tried to research old threads, but the system wouldn't let me. anyway, moving on. I have a 1990 240sx, I want to replace my current engine with a 1995+ ka24de. I was told that the 91's-93's is a direct swap. How about the 1995 and above? Is there much fabrication to be done? what would I need to get i running and with no problems? Second, the engine i want is off of a automatic, and mine is a five speed. (question) would the engine bolt up to my current transmission and would I need a ecu off of a manual transmission car?

you can/have to use your current ecu or a manual s13 ecu. use your wiring harness. I also hear you have to put your s13 manifold on the s14 motor and use the s13 distributor since the s14 has an internal coil.

motor bolts right in though, so no problems there.

btw Nismo1182 y did u go back to NA (ka24de) instead of the fun of a turbo (ca18det) setup? :P I like the 5lug conversion btw, did u just swap everything over and bolted back on?? Easy swap or not?

This car is my daily driver and the CA needed to be rebuilt so I didnt have time of money for that.

The rear hubs bolt ons, the front you need a S14 ball joint pressed into the S13 lower control arm. Plus you need to drill the holes in the shock wider to pass the S14 mounting bolts thru. Then everything bolts back up.

What about the obd1 to obd2 conversion? Could that present a problem when installation begins?
