Hi fellow nico members, i need a little info on building my sohc to a ka-t.19yrs of age with very little knowlege about building a car but knows some of the basics (ready for the bashing)

at first i wanted to do a complete SR swap but seeing how i live in california, and the Laws about swaps/turbo fail... because are retarded emissions law, althought it doesnt stop lot of people from doing it

anyways, im lookin to build a bare minimum build (just cracking the 200hp mark) basically i want a more enjoyable car to drive around daily. My budget is 2grand but trying to keep it under 1000$

Stock injectors,Stock MAF, no removing emissions stuff(not messing with the stock intake mani) no tune, basically a build i can put together and take apart when its time to get my car checked out, smogs, ect...

friend of mine has a EVO8 and is selling me his Turbosmart RFL bov,OEM evo intercooler (no damaged fins or cracks) and stock EVO exhaust all for 100bucks which really helps out my budget

I have access to a BIGBOYs Toys R Us aka Pick-A-Part and plan to use turbos that i can find from there.

~~My question is what cars can i look into to find a turbo for my build? lookin for a T2 Type, and remember i live in cali so there arent any SR or anything like that, well maybe if u get lucky! if that fails ill just look into buying a t25 if i have to

Sence GLADMAN is back ill be gettin 1 of his Log style Mani for my build, FMU 8:1, Bigger Fuelpump

also i heard are KA's dont really favor boost for long periods of time? is this true because this is my daily ride and my only ride i have for now to get me places

Please add parts and or INFO that i might be missing via LINKS ect..

Get a ebay turbokit since you wont be pushing much boost, itll last a decent while. but don't quote me on this.

you can easily pick up the turbo/mani/dp half of the turbo kit from CXracing and brand new will cost you roughly 700 bux shipped, since you already have bov fmic and accessories all you would need is some supporting fuel system and clutch to and some piping to go with it.

however just to forewarn you you will have to modify the downpipe as it is a long straight thru catless design.

believe me its definitly enough to get you to the 200hp mark easily

EDIT: btw fyi if you buy the CXracing FMIC setup and the CXracing kae turbo kit separatly total for entire kit is approx $1050 shipped but i highly reccomend atleast an FMU and white bunny clutch if your doin this on the cheap which would set you back another 300 bux tops so total ready to go other then fluids and time 13-1400ish

correct me if im wrong but ive heard the turbos on the CXracing were chinese made turbos? manifolds are prone to cracking?

jordan gladman says he can build a log style mani with any flange i asked 4, for 200-250 shipped

as for the turbo,a buddy of mine that drives a Single Turbo 94Supra pushing over 700whp on race gas, he blew his motor twise and is on his 3rd motor (built right this time) he has a bunch of stockers and is throwing me the whole hot side (turbo,manifold,dump/downpipe) FREE OF CHARGE, i believe there CT27's? i can sell the stuff i dont need for a few extra bucks

as for fuel , the stock injectors need a bigger fuel pump so most likely going with walboro 255L, and a FMU 8:1 and i should be good

100$ walboro100$ FMU250$ manifold~still looking into a clutch

Im running the full cxracing kit right now and i have 4 friends running them in a variety of cars. from honda/nissan and a bimmer.

so as long as they are run with an oil restrictor your fine.

its obviously up to you, manifolds dont crack the weak point was the wastegate flange but they are privy to that now and ship the mani with supports welded to flange to prevent over stressing it.

hey more you can get free the better. post some pics up as you get your build goin

everyone here always enjoy's seeing a single cam boosted.

i ran a cx racing kit

the turbo is ok i just rebuild it cause well something happen and i killed it

the manifold was s*** the wastegate flange fell off two time in its life and the flange warped on me after i had the manifold on for a month and started the car 2 times and ran less than 15min so is obviously a defect but when i call them up thay say "you on your own" so pretty much no customer support at all.

so lesson learned nothing from cx racing ever again

the only thing i have from the kit now is the intercooler and the flex downpipe the elbow was modded to fit a JGS mani andis now vband. change the cold pipe to greddy cold pipe cause it wouldn't clear the hood and kill my old hood, i don't want the same thing happening to my Silvia hood.

if you want to take the chance i could have the manifold welded back and you can have it for 75 bucks plus shipping the warping was fixed by my friend heated up and sand it back to flat. and the manifold is now heat treated.

I think its important you should get a ECU and Injectors 370cc will give you a good boost but it will help your car by alot both things are around $200 it wouldn't hurt you.
