im looking at making a junkyard turbo setup on my KA-E.

what would be the best junkyard turbo i could buy on a budget that could supply me with strong boost through the powerband.

sorry for the generic question but i was just wondering what other people used.

i've got a T3 from an old mustang SVO, bearing is in great condition, no excess shaft play. its a 60 trim with a .60 compressor and a .63 turbine. theororetically it should kick *** until about 6K rpm where it starts dropping in efficiency. but if you know your KA, then you know that it sucks up there anyway. so when I get the turbo on i'll post my results.

ohh yeah, the wastegate is set at 10psi but i'm working on lowering that. don't ask how.

edit: paid $200 for mine on ebay, you can get them for cheaper but this one was in exceptional condition.

1st gen dsm bovs are metal, 2nd gens are plastic bosch units. 2nd gen bovs are a dime a dozen. expect to pay about $40 for a used 1st gen.
