Read my update at bottom of POST PLEASE I need help

Ok I own a 1993 coupe w/ intake. and the AIV connector not hooked up. and a muffler attached to half of the existing exaughst, cut off and re-weilded due to previous owner.

I just bought a 1990 HB (100k miles) from the original owner who did maintence every 3k. and I have all the maintnece reports. he lived in cali then moved to washington.

*problem*

my KADE if I get on the throttle and floor it. you can hear the tires screetch from 1st to second. in the (E) it doesnt even feel like im shifting. and I cant even peel out unless revving to 6.25k and dumping the clutch when the (DE) revs to 2k and dumps and does a bigger peel out than the (E) does..

My question is. is the (E) really this sluggish? or does mine have a problem?

Yes the SOHC is gonna be a bit less powerful.

With that big of a difference it sounds like maybe the SOHC just needs a clutch.

Feel is about it. Try driving steady in second at about 3500-4000 revs, then mashing the gas. See if the tach moves more than you do.

that and it should catch somewhere along the 5k rpm line, im mean really catch like throw you back in your seat. thats if your flooring it.

ok. I went and drove it. the clutch doesnt seem to be slipping although it is rather soft and easy to push in than some other 240's iv driven. um and when I floor it. it seems like the engine is working harder than the wheels. kinda like all the power is not getting to the wheels. and if I tap and let off tap and let off. the rear wheels kind of chug. and at about 2k-2.3k it boosts really fast then slows back down ITS REALLY REALY REALLY hard to notice tho.

heres another test, take it to a hill, go about 40moh or so, and put it into 5th and see if the rpms raise and your mph doesnt. you might have to go a lil bit faster depending on the hill

I don't know too much about testing the clutch, but I have KA-E and dont have to rev that high to start peeling.

if it feels soft you might be low on the clutch fluid stuff(sorry tired and have csap this morning)ummmm drain the old stuff out put the new stuff in and bleed it see if that helps, and when you do buy a new clutch get a carbon/carbon it will help you out alot and will last along arse time.the downside is there like 2grand or somthing high

ok i twisted all the injectors. and one of them made the engine shutter for a second. would a bad injector or a leaky seal cause sluggishnesh to a point where its VERY noticable? or would it only cause bad gas mileage?. also, there is this plug right on the outside of the air filter. and I unpluged it while the engine was running. and the car didnt die down or anything? it was a 2 prong plug with a male and female end. was attached to the air filter.

also. I floored it from 0mph to redline in first gear to test if clutch is slipping I think it ended at 25-29mph when floored from 0-redline in first. so who ever has a good clutch on there KAE go floor it from stopped to redline in first and tell me what your MPH is when u reach redline?

also. what are the symptoms of bad clutch synchros? and what does it do to hinder performance?
