kade tach not working

i took my dash out to get my carpet out to clean it and tidy up some stuff. i got everything out pretty easily all that s*** went smoothly. i then go to put everything back in about a week later and after i get my s*** all back together i notice my tach needle is spun allll the way around and is resting on the trip reset stick. so i start my car assuming its not going to work but i figured id try. well. it dosent work. not moving at all. can i just open the case and spin it back to were its supposed to be? or is this s*** broken? im assuming it was bumped by somebody or moved and dropped or some s*** to make the needle move. it wasn't like that when i pulled it out. any help is greatly appreciated.
