Have a '91 KA24DE with roughly 191,xxx on it. I noticed a crack in the stock radiator so I ordered an Isis aluminum one from Enjuku. Swapped it out today, jacked the front end up, then filled it up. Sitting in the driveway it never overheated, but when I took it around the block, it did. Could this be airlock? I've bled the system with the little screw on the intake manifold and added more until it came out the hole, but it still overheats. Any ideas? I'm so pissed off right now, everytime I buy something for it, something else tears up. Please help!!!

EDIT: I left the heat on while I was filling it up. Just throwin' that in there.

did you burp the system? everytime you drain the radiatior or put a new one in you need to fill it up, and let ALL the air bubbles flow out. idk if you have a screw on funnel or not but it deffinatley helps. run til regular engine temp, squeeze hoses, raise RPM's, etc, should take you about 15 minutes or so. once the system is full and without airpockets you should be good to go!! good luck man, ne other questions post em up

I'd just take the cap off and run the heater should bleed itself out. GL I had a heating issue with my DE for a while...realized my E-Fan was pushing air toward the front instead of pulling it through the rad

I've bled the system 3 times and it still overheats. The more I do it, the longer it takes to overheat, but it still does. Is this air in it, since the more I do it, the longer it takes to overheat? I'm not trying to blow a headgasket. I also noticed the last time I done it, there didn't feel like anything in the upper hose. I kept adding more and squeezing it, now I can hear it sloshing around when I squeeze it.

could also be an air bubble getting caught on your CTS for your gauge. happened to me twice. you think youre overheating, but its just an air bubble.

beat the crap outta it on a 10 min drive or so, making sure your coolant is topped off. you gotta move enough coolant to move the bubble off your sensor

Also don't froget to bleed the air valve on the manifold where it exits the engine. It's a 10mm screw. Get the motor hot and open the screw about 80% this will let the air out of the system. Just had the same problem.
