Any specific reason why only 1.5 way? You don't want it to lock during deccel?

kaaz has discontinued the 1.5 way. there is a conversion process for the 2 way that can be done by most people at little cost. contact drift factory for more info on that one

KAAZ no longer makes a 1.5 way LSD for the 240. However, they do make new cams for the inside of the LSD that converts it to a 1.5 way. These cams are $185 and have to ordered from KAAZ. The up side is that you can still get a 1.5 way with the new RS plates. The bad news is, no one's going to have them in stock.

i'm not sure really... i have just been told that the 1.5 way is best, especially if it is going to be a daily driver... which mine will be. why? do you have another opinion?? b/c i would love to hear it or get some feedback. thank you for mentioning something. i don't know much about LSD's so i was just going to buy what i was told...

thank you!

At first I didn't want a 2 way either. I didn't really know what it does or what the differences are in a 2 way and a 1.5 way. 1.5 way, the wheels will lock when you give it throttle, while during engine braking, it doesn't lock up, it acts like a open diff during deceleration. While the 2 way locks up the wheels while you're engine braking just like when you're accelerating. As for drivability, it'll feel better then the old open diff. I'm sure Kaaz stop making 1.5 way for a reason.

Only thing I could see that a 1.5 way might be better is during hard auto-x where you are approaching a corner at high speeds with engine braking and regular braking, once you enter the corner, the engine braking wants to keep the wheels locked so it may be a little more difficult entering the corner. This little problem may only affect beginners but once you get used to it, I'm sure you can use it as an advantage.

what exactly do you mean when you say that the "wheels lock up"? lock up as in stop moving? i don't understand...

thanks for the info. though

first of all, if you don't know about LSD's then I suggest you read up on what it does..

read up on what a open diff does, 1 way LSD, 1.5 way, and 2 way..

that will give you enough info on what it is and what each of them do and their working mechanics and all that..

which inturn will help you make the decision on your own... on which one to get for your application.

everyones priorities are different, depending on what your end goal is... you have to choose the LSD...

so, the cliff notes, read up on the diff types of LSD's and that will help you decide.

don't get me wrong ANAND, i do know some about LSDs. i know that an open diff. is like it says, the 1 way lsd only engages when accelerating, the 1.5 way engages when accelerating and slightly when decelerating, and the 2 way is engaged when both accelerating and decelerating... but what i don't know is when it engages, what happens? i don't know what makes it "engaged"? and how drivability is... that's really what i don't know

hehe so you don't know what A differental does then here is a link you might like http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm engaged means that it locks up the wheels so they turn with the same amount of torque or whatever is biasing the differental kinda like some work with fluid (VLSD) some are clutches and others are sold "Planet" type where its gears. DO you know why you want your wheels locked? ie for sweet burnouts, drag racing, daily driver with a little more there, or are you going drifting whats your purpose?
