V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Figured I'd post a build thread over here because it seems unless you run a 20v in an ae86 you've committed a massive crime, bah! It's all about having fun!

So for the tune of $500 bucks I pulled this little gem out of the woods.

Got it home and washed it up

At this point I'm pretty pleased, 1 owner, original 1985 title, straight and mostly rust free.

So I started forum searching for a 5 spd and a 4age of any variety. To my dismay this is what I was quoted:
250 for sr5 trans, 200 for GTS bellhousing, 50 for shifter, 600 for GTS tank without lines, no 4ages local, eBay silvertop $1000
Yikes! It's a $500 car, the help do I want to spend that kind of money for? I'm not building an STI here....

So my buddy hit up an old coworker and sitting at his house was a ka24de, s14 trans, starter crossmember, front half of the driveshaft, intake, alternator, engine harness, ps pump, and a few other bits. Total cost? $250. God I love nissan owners.

So here began the actual work. Out with the crappy 4ac and auto

Found a sunroof for reasonably priced

And finally got all the electrical to work!

Headlights go up.... Headlights go down.... Updownupdownupdown lol

So this is where I currently sit. The ka is getting rings and bearings because I have a bad history with rod knock. And I'm currently trying to find a clutch pedal that doesn't cost me 70 bucks. Starting to think a miata one will fit. Or you can get wilwood pedals for $50 so idk. The ka will go in in stock format plus a haltech and later will get some cams and ITBs... Because there is atleast one thing this car needs is ITBs.

Sweet build!!

Sounds like the type of project that'll need a lot of cutting and welding :)

Nah, should be fairly straight foward.

As a side note. Miata clutch pedal FTW!

Just need to cut the brake pedal down

Awesome another Nissan in a yota

U are true it is almost a crime to not have a 20v in a ae

I'm currently running a ca18det in my ae86 coupe

Really wasn't that bad of a swap I had a factory 5 spd car so pedals and hole was there
