Although I am sure this has been braught up before, I wanted to get a more clear idea of what I should do with my car. I have a 90' 240 fastback with the stock KA24E. The motor has about 9k on a rebuild. I am most definately wanting a turbocharger, however I was wondering if it would make more sence to put in a KA24DE first. I was also wondering how a turbo kit for the DOHC engine would need to be modified to fit the SOHC engine.

the problem is that I don't have a lot of money, and I was wondering which engine would give me the most bang for my buck. (reliability is also a factor seeing as to how the car is my daily driver)

even though i'm a KA fan @ heart, i think the SR is more reliable. turbo came str8 from the factory right? that's gotta count for something.

Well if you dont have money, just drive the ka24e for a while without rushing turbo. Especially since the ka24e is rebuilt?

ka-t can be reliable if built right...like it was mentioned before, research, research, research.

Cheap log manifold, CA18 Injectors, small Honda-ish FMIC or SMIC, HKS SAFR or FMU, and a Z31 T3 plus atleast a 2.5" downpipe exhaust = simple, cheap, and easily capable 10psi reliably.Done.

Yah, I used to own a volkswagen bug and I got way too much $ into it, I know all about the consequences of rushing into things. I just wanted to know what I'm saving up for chances are, the turbo upgrade will come last no matter what engine I decide to go with

By the way, thanks to everyone for your insight
