ok heres the deal, when i bought my 89 hatch the bottom end knocked and i ended up having to get another bottom end from a jy. i completly rebuilt the bottom end, new bearings, seals, timing chain, tensioner, head gasket, everything i could think of, well i get it back together and back in the car. hook everything back up(it was all labled as it was removed so i know its right) . turn the key ,starts right up, hit the throttle, nothing. dang thing wont rev past 2500, wtf? any ideas? im stumped, maybe dizzy 180 out? it revved fine with the bad engine in it. please help.

i tried the maf , thats not it. i went over everything again, all the timing is right(ignition, cam). the only thing i dont have hooked up to it is the exaust, could not having enough back pressure cause this? also the car was swapped to a 5 speed when the engine was rebuilt is there anything that might cause this since im still running the auto ecu?
