ka24e vs. ka24de

i just recently got into the 240 scene. i bought a 93 that is has a salvage title, runs good, but from what i'm told might have a possible bent frame. the previous owner told me he was hit from behind. the left door doesn't close right and the hatch looks a little left. interior is nice, stock, and car overall is pretty good. oh, it's an auto. i planned to do the swap but want to make sure about the frame. i drove behind it and it doesn't look like it drives crooked. well this guy offered me a straight trade for his 90. body has some rough spots, needs a paint job but is pretty solid. runs great, has the transmission swap, interior about the same. mine has a ka24de, his a ka24e. he did say that it's a little rough when it's not warm but i think i read it has something to do with the ecu from the auto transmission. he didn't swap the ecu when he did the manual swap. other than that, it seems sweet. his has rims mine are wheel caps. mine is pretty much stock. any suggestions or comments?

i have a 1990 with the KA-E, and i think that there is very little difference in the two stock engines... the E has some harder to find performance parts, but they are there, and the DE has i think about 10-15 more whp (depends on condition of engines respectivly) but i think you will be happy with either, also ive read that the auto ecu makes for no speed cut @ 117mph in a manual...

i would go for the one with the clean title, i wouldn't want to deal with a salvaged car, motors can always be swapped, and the ka-e isn't as slow as everyone makes it out to be, i accelerate faster then a few stock twin cams around here, but that might be due to not having any A/C and having an LSD, which are cheap upgrades to do, but definitely get the one that has the clean title, cuz more then likely the one with the salvaged title will bring you more problems then you need down the line.
