I tried to search for threads, and also read all the guides/how to on how to remove valves, but I'm still having problems. FSM and other valve removal guides state to compress the cylinders to 120psi or whatever, but head is off the motor so that is out of the question. Is that a vital part to removal of the springs and valves? I have the spring compressed, and am stuck at that point.

There is that little clip on the top of the stem, maybe that is the problem I'm having, that I can't get it off.

There is plenty of play with the valve when I compress the spring. I can press the valve in pretty far, do I need to compress the spring more or what? I'm really stuck hehe.

I've tried using a magnet and stuff, maybe I'm missing something here? Am I doing it all wrong? The guides on here for the valves aren't too helpful, not very specific and no pics

so compress the spring, push down on the assembly and push the valve up from the bottom against it?

I had a problem with my keepers getting "stuck" to the valves and retainers. I just gave it a good tap w/ a hammer and they came loose.

P.S. WTF are you doing with that P.O.S. compresser? Get the real type. SOoooooooooooo much better and easier to use.

come on now, I AM on a budget here kinda 8 bucks for this, and works just fine as for compressing the spring? It is capable of doing the job and won't cause damage will it?

I work at a Schuck's. We rent tools out. And I know Autozone does too. Just put a deposit down, use the tool, and return it for full amount back. We don't make money off of our tool rentals. Te one you got is good for low cost builds. Just don't put the springs in a bind or you could damage the springs. I.E. they won't unspring as much.

The tool you seek looks like this one.

I would recomend this one 10:1 over the one you got.

How much that cost about anywats? Does one end go on the valve and the other end on the spring or something like that?
