Does anyone know how or if its possible to adjust valves on the 24e. I have a ticking noise from the top of the engine and I read somewhere that you could take the valve cover off and put your finger on the culprit and then tighten it.

Sounds too easy. Thanks for the help:icesangel

The valves are hydrolic so they ajust on there own. how long have you had the ticking sound? If just in the last week or two i would check you oil. once the oil gets low the presure drops and you will start to hear lifter/valve noise. If you still have a problem you can either replace the bad lifter/rocker or buy some manualy ajustable rockers from a company like http://www.realnissan.com

Thanks for the post.

Turns out it was my injectors. When I bought the car the guy told me that the #3 cylinder had an eagle talon injector. I took it to a reputable place to have it replaced and all they did was seal them. they told me the injectors were good and charged me $16 in parts and $160 in labor.

I took the valve cover off last night to see if I could adjust them and realized what you stated earlier. they are hydraulic. Thats when I noticed the #3 cylinder was grey and the others were black. So I went and got a new one and took out the injectors and they were all cracked around the tips. I replaced the grey and the car sounded much better. But I know the rest are bad. So I'm replacing them too.

Well I replaced all the injectors $$$$ #!?+(*

That didn't do anything. Still Knocking on the fourth cylinder. I took off the spark plug to that cylinder and the noise went away. I found another thread and they said it was a rod bearing.

That's more than I can afford now. So I guess I'll wait til she blows. If anyone is following this and has any other cheap fixes I would be most appreciative.
