The events that led up to this moment are as follows. After I finished up my KAE-T the car ended up running very well after some minor tuning. The only problem was a small coolant leak that was under the intake manifold. After taking off the manifold and fixing the leak we mounted everything back up.

The whole time we were pretty cautious because I was afraid of missing a vacuum hose. All the EGR stuff has been removed. After putting everything back together and turning on the car, it would start bog/terrible idle and die. when I unplug the MAF the car stays on so I am sure that there is a vacuum leak somewhere. However, I have checked every nook and cranny for a hanging or loose vacuum line and could find nothing. Which leads me to the possibility that when i unplugged the battery something happened to the SAFC(settings are still there but maybe something went haywire?).

Although all symptoms point to a vacuum leak, me and my bro have been hovering over the intake manifold, double and triple checking any loose ends and found none.

Any ideas?

If you verified that there are no vacuum leaks, then that probably isn't the problem. You could download the fsm and look at the vacuum diagrams to be sure you aren't missing anything.

Also, when you remove the MAF plug do the conditions remain the same? I mean does it still bog and act the same with the maf connected or not? Most likely it seems would be a problem with the SAFC.

Just redo the SAFC settings, probably lost something or another when you disconnected battery, but just reset to be sure good luck

You should make a boost leak detector and check your intake manifold. Theres a DIY post here about it.

When I unplug the MAF the car runs at a steady 1350 rpm. It is only when I plug in the MAF that the car bogs and dies. That's why I think there is still a vacuum leak somewhere.

well do what i told you to do and reference the vacuum diagram in the FSM to make sure you didnt miss anything. maybe clean the maf as well while you are at it, cant hurt. and you might as well redo the safc just to get it out as a possibility, easy stuff first right?

Well I found out what was causing the problem. When I put the upper intake manifold back on, I tightened it too hard and cracked the gasket 8( thats where the vacuum leak was coming from.
