I was thinking about putting a turbo kit on my 89' 240 until I can find a CA18DET but I have yet to see a kit for a KA24E . Does anyone know of any kits or anyone know about how to do custom kits?

no one has replied probably because they dont want to type that much....Heres the deal, wait for the CA. It is not easy or cheap to throw on a turbo kit, especially a custom one, and have it work right. The car will end up a garage ornament.Your KA is probably fairly high mileage, so that is another reason to not turbo charge it. IF you have never done a turbo kit installation, or you dont necessarily know how all the parts of a turbocharger car work, then thats even more reason to hunt down a CA.But if you are hell bent on turbo the KA, here is a list of what you need.turbo exhaust manifold (probably custom)$$$$turbocharger $$$Wastegate (if not internal on turbo)$$custom exhaust system (turbo back) $$$intercooler $$$intercooler piping $$$A way to manage fuel and ignition $$$$wideband oxygen sensor $$injectors$$BOV $Lots of misc stuff that you wont think of until you are halfway through the job $$$$a new ACT clutch $$an engine rebuild after you blow it up $$$

IF you cant find a CA, look harder, they are out there! If you have a bunch of money to blow, then you are better off putting it into the suspension and brakes while you search for a CA. If you enjoy driving your 240, then leave it alone and keep enjoying it. Just my 2cents.

I 2nd A's advice, invest in suspension while looking 4 that Ca. Unless your willing to go the extra mile with a old engine. It will give u some experience tho. U could also just start buying universal parts, fmu, exhaust, intercooler, bov, turbo. Just to get the high dollar items out of the way. Or do what i'm doing find a dohc Ka and just rebuild it for the hell of it in case u change ur mind about the Ca or the sohc goes sour.

other parts you'll need to turbo a na will have to do with the interal (head gaskets, pistons, piston rods, cams, etc.) of the engine thats an always, unless you want to boost at low psi's. you can go to other 240sx forums to see what you will need too. everything is in the faq.hey if you want to turbo charge your ka24e, you could buy my s14 pistons. i'll give you the rods too. all for $55 shipped. this will give your motor much better pistons, but if you want to boost at high psi's, then you dont want these. email me at [email protected]

doesn't the E engine run a CR of 8.6 to 1. Sure seems low enough to me. imo. lol.

actually, no one replied because he posted this in the wrong forum.

and after reading the replies that were given to him, i'm going to do him a BIG favor and move this to the right forum. i don't know how this was missed, but i hope it's not too late.
