Some sort of engine management is needed. Whether it be an SAFC/MSD-BTM combo. You will need something to 'tune' it with.

Are you going to run a front mount or a side mount? And are you going to get bigger injectors, or go with an FMU?

There are some sticky's at the top of the page you might want to read. They have alot of info in them, and have some VERY FAQ's in there.

Anything else, just ask.

The best for your motor is management. Either a rom tuned ecu, or the btm/safc combo.

sounds like you kinda dived in head first not knowing much. compression should be around 150-160 on a sohc, i believe. you're going to need fuel management, and a wideband.. don't really need much else if you're running just mild boost. btm is always nice, but not needed. im guessing you bought the jgs kit then?

i actually answered pretty much all your questions.. lol buuut anyways, the kit you bought is for a ka24de. that was the head first stuff i was talking about. most people research THEN buy stuff, not the other way around.

it's cool that you're trying to learn.. but honestly go read the stickys at the top of the page.

see i was wondering that myself bout if it was for ka24de but it said 89-94 240sx turbo kit. why would it say that if 89 is sohc. i know people swap to dohc but it just sounded like it was for a sohc. i could use it still tho i would just need the turbo manifold right?

If they send you the kit for a DOHC, then all you would need is just a manifold to compliment your sohc.

Also engine management is something you don't want to cheap out on in the first place.

The SOHC is a simple engine to tune with a SAFC/BTM combo, but you also have the option of rom tuning.

Go ahead and check out http://www.hybridka.com for under 200 bucks you can have a fully tunable ecu.

They even offer various tunes for you. I would also invest in a wideband.
