Well, it seems like they have a difference in compression as I mistaking got the wrong ones today(props to autozone). As I opened my box I noticed these pistons dipped in, alot. After calling the manufactor it seems that the KA24E truck pistons differ from the 240sx pistons. The 240sx pistons are more flat(and expensive). The thing I was wondering is.... Does anyone know the compression of the KA24E truck pistons?

Well the only cars with the KA24E engine were made mostly around 1990 as you probably know. They were the 240SX, Axxess, Hardbody Pickup and Stanza. Obviously the Stanza and 240 are not trucks, here are the C/R numbers I found:

240SX - 9.0:1

Axxess - 9.3:1

Pickup - 8.6:1

Stanza - 9.3:1

That's the info I found. If they are dished than they probably have a lower compression, which would rule out the Stanza and Axxess. So most likely you have the Hardbody Pickup pistons, which are 8.6:1, good for turbo applications!! :)

Hope this helps.

AHA! u are misinformed...sorrythe earlier KA-Es in the 240SX (first part of 89) had 9.0 compression. The later ones had 8.6.

sorry for the outburst.

You are all misinformed 7/88 through 10/88 models had the higher compression 9.1:1 pistons. The 11/88 through end of SOHC production was the lower 8.6:1 for the 240sx.

That's what I meant. Early SOHC were higher compression than later SOHC. I was off on the dates tho. It's the thought that counts, right? *L*

stanza still has 9.3:1 ?? hrm..

so is that because the pistons re different or the combustion chamber is different?
