If i decide to rebuild and turbo a ka24e i thought it might be cheap and easy to pull one from a nissan truck at a junkyard and go that route. I still havent decided because im in love with the sr20, as most people here are.
DANGER! WILL ROBINSON DANGER!
The KA24Es that Nissan put in to their PU/SUV lines were assembled in Mexico. No slight on the folks who put them together, but the tolerances were much wider. Also, if I remember correctly there are some actual casting differences in the heads and block. The KAs that went into the 240s were of a much higher build quality/tighter tolerance.
Check out Malvern Racing's site, they have some good info there on the KA in the web forums.
I still haven't decided on the SR either. If I Daily Drive my 240, I'm gonna get serious about the swap. If I want to road-race it, SCCA etc., then the swap would put me in an unlimited type class where my skills would be sorely lacking. Choices choices.
