There are two sensors I believe on my manual transmission. I'm doing a engine swap with another KA24E because mine is seized.I've got everything ready to be swapped but when I pulled the old motor and transmission out I noticed that the sensor wires on the transmission were cut and I need to replace them. I need to buy replacement sensor but I'm not sure which sensors these are and if they are even necessary. Basically if you know which sensors these are that would be helpful. I believe on is a reverse light sensor and another maybe the speed sensor.....

other info... I purchased a full engine and transmission. the transmission that came with the engine was a auto transmission. I got it for $150 so I figured it was a deal. I'm seperating the auto transmission from the running engine and putting the running engine on the manual transmission. then dropping the running engine and transmission back into my 1990 s13 hatch. if you have any information that you think maybe helpful feel free to let me know. I'm a noob to this forum. I did search for this answer and failed to find it. also a noob to 240sx but I've wanted one since I was 16. finally got one need a little assistance to get the beast running and start fixing it up.
hah I got in wreck and now I'm carless. I totaled my lame a** kia spectra. now I have no car and I want to get my 240 running at least for now. I plan on fixing it up real nice as do most people on this site.

the speed limiter on a 5speed is controlled by the 5th and 4th gear sensors, many people cut these sensors to disable the speed limiter. if your reverse lights work and the vehicle cranks you are good to go. also in the FSM(factory sevice manual) there is a picture of the transmission that shows which sensors are what. you can find the FSM on this site in pdf. just search.

I was able to find a service manual, but not able to find anything about those sensors.

in the manual transmisson section page M-4 there is a small picture showing wich switches are witch. your speed sensor is unmarked on the picture but it is small and round located under and to the rear of your neutral position switch.
