I am trying to change the transmission and differantial gear oil of 90 240SXSE (stock). I just want to have an advice from expert on filling bolts. I located drain plugs of those two with no problem but I am having a trouble with filling bolts.

(1) For differential, the factory service manual shows both fill/drain bolts on the back of differential case but the filling plug of my 240SX is on the side of the case. Do I have to remove muffler to reach this plug?

(2) For transmission, filling plug is on the side of the case. It looks like the bolt is damamged by preivous owner(s). I heard that oil can be filled from the top. Can anyone verify this please?

Thank you in advance.

For the transmission, i couldn't get my fill plug either. I just drained oil and put 2.4L in like the manual says. I filled thro the shifter hole.

As for the diff, fill plug and drain plug are booth on the back of the diff. Fill plugs is in the top right corner.
