Yes you can. No problems at all. Do a quick search next time. This question has come up alot in the last month.

just to increase understanding.

If you break down the engine code KA= The block, 24 = Displacement in liters D= Dual cam

The only thing different therefore is the Head right? And since the transmission bolts to the block...it will also bolt onto any other KA block. Regardless of head configuration, same with clutch and fly wheel too.

Coolz! So the VQ35DE in the 350Z is the exact same as the VQ35DE in the altima or the pathfinder?

Engine codes are not the best way to check for part compatibility.

Are you joking with me?

I would assume so though. Take the 350z engine , mount it transversely into the Altima and hook the altima transmission up to it ? :-/

well duh n/m. If your talking about rear wheel drive and front wheel drive...then of course theres a difference. but for the KA24 what i said applies.

the DE block is very different than the E block, even though they are both KA.

yes you can still use your transmission with the DE motor, i did it in my s13.

Yeah, but you were making it seem like since 'only the heads were different', everything on the block is interchangeable, which is not a good gerneralization to make. Just trying to save people headaches down the road.
