i know youve probly seen this numerous times before. im not asking you to critisize my question. i just need as much help and advice as i can get before i get myself into trouble too deep. im 17 years old. and i live in scotts hill, tennessee. for those of you who never heard of it(almost all of you). its in the middle of nowhere. no parts shops or anythng. and i have the only 240 in the area that i know of (1990 ka24e hatch 5spd.). but the real reason im here is to ask if i should take my ka24e to a turbo. or just swap in the already done yet popular sr20det? i need help please! im not wanting a ka-t or sr20 argumentative war to start here. i just want all the help and info i can get. thanks to each of you for your help.

It's your car, you'll do the work on it, and you'll be the one driving it.So you decide.

I think a SR20 swap would be the easiest on the wallet.KA-T would be a bit risky if you don't know how to properly do a turbo setup, many people have made mistakes and blown their KA, although that could've been avoided with proper knowledge.

The sr20 swapp is a fast..solution..but largely over looked is the ka24de..the 2 cam vertion of your engine..you can get a used ka24de now for around 500 to 1200 bucks..these motors are really turbo friendly with some tuners getting them into the 700hp at the wheels range..but lets be realistic...sr20 swapp will cost ya 5k without a turbo if ya do it at a shop..i would sugest going N/A for now..building the internals of a ka24de up..then turbo'ing it later..you can easly build up to 200hp by just doing a basic rebuild..when ya turbo it later..sky's the limit...this will save you tones of cash..and you can engine stand it while still using your ride..if ya wana follow a ka build from scatch..here is a myspace page..ohh it mine..lol myspace.com/liquid_cool_ka24de..hope this helps.
