i'm considering this swap as well, if i can find an under 80k KA24DE with trans. We would need ecu, harness, power steering stuff i think. Isnt the powersteering different on this motor? You will need the cluster as well, for the tach. you could keep your original and do an aftermarket tach or something. Having the DE cluster would be nice cause it'd look all stock and stuff, plus it would display a correct odometer reading for that engine. (my 240s are exempt from odometer readings on their titles)

go for the de swap

find a setup for $400, put in new pistons and bearings and headgasket, uh huh. you're rockin with a fresh motor that pulls hard and is easy to get parts for. :)

Okay I have a 91 DE running in my 90. The only wiring that has to be done is cut off the plug that goes from the KA24E's engine harness to the car's main harness and splice it onto the DE's harness in place of the DE one. After that is is just plug and play. Also, the powersteering can be ghetto rigged to work if you can't find it from a newer car. You will also need a throttle cable since the one for the KA24E is shorter than the DE one. That's about all that I can think of.

bump I'm still in the process of doing my swap and I also would like to know how to wire up a de harness to a e. I'm going 95 to a 90 body. what about the fuse box in the engine bay a friend told me this will need to be switch with a 95 box so that the engine wiring harness will plug in and then of course the wiring under the dash near the ecu. Serious need of help haven't drivin my car further than a mile since I bought it in october of 03. Girlfriend and mother are frustrated with me about getting a running car. so how is the wiring done?

As far as I know, no. All you need is the DE harness just to the engine, you can plug it into the main harness. I can't comment on the S13 to S14 tho

i did some more research and found that you have to cut the wires that connect to the under dash, and solder the connector from the sohc harness on. done
