I have a 90 240sx thats in good running condition, however I want to make my 240 turbo and I figured I should at least get the de and turbo it. Also the 90 pistons raise the compressiong in the de block so do you know anyone who has turbo charged a de and put the 90 pistons in with a turbo? would I need new rods? I know I'll need fuel upgrades and MAFS but not sure other than that. Also I will need power steering lines, so if anybody has them I'll take them. Also a ECU would be nice.

sur it'll work, but the compression would be so high for the turbo application, it would be extremely unstable and im sure detnation would occur and destroy your motor.. having high compression would benefit a turbo large but it would be way to unstable to control, just keep ur compression low like everyone else and have a reliable turbo motor that will last you longer than 2 days..

The reason you don't want to run high compression on a blown motor is taht you have less chance for error. Tuning for more fuel, air and spark start becoming more and more crucial the higher the compression gets. Running a lower compression gives you a much easier margin for error. things don't have to be too exact.

With a high compression motor you'll be able to run about 5 lbs of boost with good fuel and ignition retard on boost. More then 5lbs of boost and it will be very prone to detonation do to the high cylinder pressure and coinciding high intake charge temps. You can use a methonal injection system for times at the track when you want to run more boost. They are fairly inexpensive and work very well.

I have a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS with 11/1 compression and every stg 1 turbo kit made for it runs 6-7 lbs of boost.
