KA24E to KA24DE Stories.

Ok,

Well I am planning on swapping my KA24E for a DE soon. I was wondering how much of a difference I will feel. It will stay NA for now, header, intake, plug wires, ignition, stage 2 clutch, some small stuff. I was just wondering how much quicker it will feel. Anything you all that have done the swap want to tell me to stay away from or do's and dont's? Any general input appreciated. Thanks

You will feel a little difference it does have 15 more pony's. The swap is really easy very straight forward. It was the first swap I ever did and I did it by myself no help and it took me about a day or two. The only part that gave me troble were the ac lines to bolt up to the ka24de ac compressor. Well I ran into some minor problems and one major problem...first off dont drink when your going to do this I let my buddy put on my flywheel and he didnt torque it down so all of the bolts came loose after i got the motor in and running but other than that its easy make sure you take some pics and DONT THROW AWAY ANYTHING UNTIL YOUR DONE

as for speed difference it felt a little bit faster I had no problems beating 99/00 SI's where as before I could barely keep up with a damn Focus

You mean people get rid of their SOHC NO WAY thats is like the most rev happy engine ever with some minor clean ups and upgrades I LOVE MY SOHC :p.

Thought Id give you DE guys some crap hehe. But I really do love my SOHC.
