KA24E to a KA24DE??

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

i recently bought a 89 240 with a siezed engine. looking to do a cheap swap to get it back on the street. was thinking of putting the ka24de in it how hard and how much would this be???

It is not hard at all. Powersteering lines need a bit of modifying though. It should cost around 400 for everything, if you shop around and get good deals. Search for more detailed answers. There are a couple writeups in the technical section that you can look over.

thanks man that's alot of help. just one question my car has heads up display can i keep that or do they not work together?

you will need a DOHC tachometer which you can take from a 91-94 cluster and swap into yours.

Im thinking of swaping out my ka24e for a ka24de, i just bought my 240 a couple days ago, do i need to swap pcm's? and can i use the same wiring harness?

you will need a new dohc wiring harness and ecu.
