ka24e timing cover wont fit properly HELP

I Took off timing cover and chain due to the mistake of me dropping a ziptie in crankcase and had to retrive it now.. the chain is back on and im tryin to get the cover that came off car back on and its not going in, its as if it is to big. Any advice would be great...

well it is probably a tight fit between the oil pan and the head...try loosing the oil pan so it drops a bit... should go on after that. the timing cover is supposed to be machined with the block so that the head mates up perfect...or stick your timing cover in the freezer for an hour or so...shot in the dark
