Can The KA24E tach work with the CA18det? I know it can work with the KA24DE and the DE tach is used sometimes for the SR. Where do I take the signal from? Igniter? Thanks.

The answer is no, you cant use the E tach, you must use the DE tach. The E uses a 6v signal, where the DE (and the CA and SR motors as well) use a 12v tach signal. I have seen a DIY where you install some kind of resistor on the back of the E tach to get it to work properly, but i think its just easier to install another tach altogether. You dont even need to change wiring sub harnesses or anything.

Same problem my buddy had, you have to use a dohc tack to get a reading the factory sohc tach wount read. also if you do an aftermarket tach just tap into the signal wire at the ecu. 5 seconds and your done
