can u convert an single overhead cam to double over head cam... or do i have to get a new engine?

you can get the whole head from a ka24de plus little things like intake mani, distributor and stuff, and just change the heads. It'll have DOHC's plus a compression ratio of 11:1 from the ka24e's pistons.

yup, that is doable but be sure you are up to it. should be a writeup in the 240 section.
